Do you want to increase your website’s traffic?
Are you thinking about paying for something like Google Adwords?
Have you been paying per click with a negative return on your investment?
Here's why buying PPC (pay per click) advertising might not be the best spent money for your return.
1. Adwords clickers may not be serious buyers.
Sites like MySpace & YouTube (the largest, most popular social networking sites) are some of the largest referrers to Google Adwords. This means that all those kids on MySpace are clicking on your Google Adwords more than anyone else. Are these kids your target audience?
2. Visitors tend to click on the natural (organic, or unpaid) results.
In many recent studies, using the latest technology called "Eye Tracking", researchers have proven several things:
- The top organic listings get the most attention and the most clicks.
- Visitors tend to click first on what they see first. In other words, people don’t generally browse a number of listings and then make a considered click. The first listing they see that seems about right...that’s where they click.
- AdWord ads don’t beat organic listings.
Here's where people look (and click);
